Red Wine
You always hear that red wine is good for you. In fact, many experts say that red wine has all sorts of health benefits due to its antioxidant levels and the fact that it contains resveratrol.
But there’s another HUGE reason why drinking quality organic red wine in moderation (ie 1-2 glasses per day max) can actually be extremely healthy.
In one study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers found that people who drank 2 glasses of red wine per day had increased amounts of beneficial gut bacteria and lower amounts of bad bacteria.
And as you probably already know, gut flora balance is super important for digestion, the strength of your immune system, metabolism, the health of your skin and so much more.
However, that’s not all the study found…
Prebiotic Effect
Researchers also discovered that red wine consumption also had a prebiotic effect. Which means that it supported and nourished healthy growth and colonies of good bacteria.
They also found that red wine drinkers enjoyed lower blood pressure, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol and even less inflammation measured by the presence of CRP (C-reactive protein).
Another finding in this study that was of significance was that when compared to an equal serving of gin, the red wine was the only alcohol to deliver these kinds of results.
The gin drinkers had NONE of the same benefit.
What this led the scientists to conclude was that the benefits of red wine don’t necessarily come from the alcohol…but from the polyphenols and resveratrol in the red wine and not necessarily the alcohol content itself.
However, what researchers did discover was that there appears to be some sort of synergistic effect between alcohol and the other healthy compounds in red wine. Because when they looked at a group of volunteers who received non-alcoholic red wine the blood pressure effects were much less.
And when it comes to choosing a red wine, you can choose Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz or any other dry red wine.
However, while white wine does have some health benefits they are nowhere near that of red wine. Plus they have a LOT more sugar.
So while the study did uncover a lot of potential health benefits of red wine consumption, one that they didn’t mention was its control on blood sugar. Studies show that when consumed with a meal, red wine can slow and mitigate the blood sugar response associated with a meal. And stabilizing blood sugar is a huge help in balancing hormones, lowering insulin levels, moderating appetite and keeping your weight down.
It’s pretty easy to see why red wine consumption is healthy.
However, red wine does have a lot of health benefits and does help keep you lean, healthy and helps to stabilize your blood sugar.
It doesn’t mean you have to run out and start drinking. See, there are other ways of supporting a healthy blood sugar and insulin response and improving your health without drinking wine.
In fact, our proprietary blood sugar supplement GLUCOZINE is a perfect example.
GLUCOZINE is the first and only scientifically formulated blood sugar support formula specifically designed to reverse the effects of insulin resistance. A condition that occurs when the cells of your body no longer properly respond to insulin. This leads to unhealthy blood sugar, weight gain (especially around the midsection), low energy and a slowing down of the metabolism.
